Dove “Choose Beautiful” Campaign Highlights Women’s Self-Perceptionmarta c taborga
Have you heard of Dove’s latest powerful campaign, Choose Beautiful? If you haven’t, then here’s a quick summary of the campaign that has captured many people’s attention. In five cities across the world, the brand set up signs above a building’s side-by-side doors. One sign read “Beautiful” while the other had “Average” written across it.
What captured our attention at Your Contour was the surprising results of the number of women who chose to walk through the door labeled “Average.” A camera crew captured footage of the event. Check out the Dove Choose Beautiful campaign video. Dove also interviewed nearly 6,500 women between the ages of 18 and 64 in 20 countries about their self-perception of beauty.
Of the women surveyed, a staggering 96 percent did not perceive themselves as beautiful! However, 80 percent thought beauty could be found in every woman. Therefore, the question we must ask ourselves is, how can women boost their own self-confidence enough to perceive beauty in themselves?
